Stewart is a self-employed taxi driver and has been an EV user for the past year. His journeys are generally town driving in Drogheda along with occasional longer journey. He was motivated to make the switch to electric based on costs, environmental benefits and technology improvements.

MG5 EV – roomy, comfortable and adequate range.

What do you consider to be the benefits of driving an Electric Vehicle?
There are benefits for the environment and also savings on fuel costs.

What are the challenges?
The scarcity of public fast chargers. With a growing number of electric taxis some high speed chargers dedicated to taxis or a sufficient number of readily available public high speed chargers would be a help. The existing charging infrastructure is badly maintained and inadequate for the growing number of EVs.
