Eric, Cork

As a new motorist, Eric has chosen an electric vehicle due to the low running costs and cleaner air. He considers the existing charging infrastructure to be challenging and discusses that there are frequent break downs at charging stations and queues.

Eric’s typical journey from his home to place of work and back is 100km but he would advise any motorists considering an electric vehicle to ensure that the range of the vehicle is suitable for their daily commute – particularly in the winter months.

Discussing his hopes for the future, Eric adds that he would like to see more petrol stations converting to public charging stations with 50 – 150 KW chargers and covers for weather protection.
