The provisional locations for the FASTER Project EV charging stations across Western Scotland, Northern Ireland the Republic of Ireland have been revealed. Following intensive site-assessment work over the past 18 months, HiTrans, University of Strathclyde, Louth County Council, Dundalk Institute of Technology and Ulster University have compiled a list of sites that support the requirements of the INTERREG VA funding as well as the anticipated needs of motorists in each of the regions. Sites have been chosen in part for their 24/7 accessibility. These sites were part of a longer list of options presented by a number of local authorities and council across each region.
It is important to note that as the project progresses and procurement exercises are completed across each region for the installation and deployment of the 50kw charging stations, some sites may change due to suitability at that point in time, headroom or budgetary pressures and constraints, for example some sites may require significantly more groundworks than others which may rule them ineligible, therefore we are unable to guarantee locations at this point in time and this list should be treated purely as indicative.
