EV Ownership

The future is electric! Or is it?

While Electric Vehicles may be considered a relatively new phenomenon, Electric Vehicles have actually existed in some format since the 1800s and even before then depending on the accounts of certain historians.

While manufacturers have had varying degrees of success particularly during the 20th century, new technology and access to resource materials along with increased awareness about human impact on climate change, the popularity of electric vehicles both for public and commercial use has increased dramatically.

In the UK there are more than 535,000 registered plug-in vehicles registered, in Ireland there are approx. 35,000. An increasing number of new models are coming to the market as manufacturers are responding to demand and governments in developed countries including the UK and Ireland are introducing bans on the sale of new petrol and diesel vehicles which come in to effect from 2030.
